Chip Sealing

Chip sealing is a pavement surface treatment that consists of applying liquid asphalt to the existing surface followed by a placement of small evenly distributed, clean aggregate (or "chips") varies from 0.25 inches to more then 0.75 inches. The asphalt seals the road surface and binds the aggregate in place: and the aggregate provides a skid-resistant wearing surface.

Fog Sealing

Fog Sealing is a method that is typically used to improve sealing or waterproofing  freshly chip sealed surfaces. Fog seals are also useful in holding chips in place to help prevent vehicle damage arising from flying chips. The polymer modified asphalt  sealant is sprayed onto the newly chipped aggregate with computerized distributors trucks. This will help fill cracks and voids left open by the initial application of liquid asphalt.
